Day 0 — Arrival in Senaru & Pre-Trek Stay

Your Mount Rinjani adventure begins with a complimentary transfer to Senaru Village. We provide free pick-up from various locations across Lombok, making your journey to the starting point easy and stress-free. Upon arrival, you’ll check in to our guesthouse and relax before the trek starts the following morning.

For the best experience, we suggest selecting a morning transfer whenever possible. Arriving in Senaru earlier gives you enough time to relax, explore the village, enjoy the fresh mountain atmosphere, and get a good night’s sleep before your trek.

Overnight Accommodation

Before your trek, you’ll stay in a comfortable private room at our guesthouse in Senaru. Each room features a private bathroom, beautiful mountain surroundings, and breakfast is included. In the evening, your trekking guide will meet you for a short briefing, equipment inspection, and a final overview of the adventure ahead.

Day 1: Senaru Village → Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m)

Your adventure begins in Senaru Village (600m), where you’ll register before entering Mount Rinjani National Park. The trail winds through lush tropical rainforest, home to exotic birds and local wildlife, while providing shade during the ascent.

After trekking approximately 9 km uphill, you’ll reach the Senaru Crater Rim (2,641m). From the campsite, enjoy spectacular views of Segara Anak Lake, Mount Rinjani’s summit, and the surrounding valleys. As the sun sets, your trekking team will prepare dinner before you spend the night camping under the stars.

  • 08:00 AM – Start trekking from Senaru Trek Center after registration and briefing.
  • Morning – Hike through lush tropical rainforest with opportunities to spot local wildlife.
  • 12:30 PM – Rest stop at Pos 2 (1,500m).

Day 2: Senaru Crater Rim → Senaru Village

Afterward, descend through lush tropical rainforest, where you may spot local wildlife and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The trek ends upon arrival back in Senaru Village.

The 2D1N Rinjani Summit Trek follows the Sembalun route and includes a sunrise summit climb to Mount Rinjani’s highest point at 3,726 m. The Senaru Crater Rim Trek is shorter, easier, and suitable for those who want incredible views without the demanding summit ascent.

What Is Your Cancellation and Refund Policy?

A USD 40 booking deposit is required to secure your reservation and is non-refundable under all circumstances.

Please note that once Mount Rinjani National Park permits have been issued, the permit fees cannot be refunded or transferred to another person or trekking date.

If you have paid the full trekking fee and need to cancel your booking, any eligible refundable balance will be returned, excluding the non-refundable deposit and any non-refundable permit fees that have already been processed.

Yes. From April 1, 2026, all trekkers on Mount Rinjani are required to have valid travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trekking accidents, and emergency evacuation.
 
If you do not have suitable coverage, Premium Trekking Insurance can be arranged through the Mount Rinjani National Park Authority for USD 18 per person before the trek begins.

You can leave your luggage safely at the Jou Trekking office while you are hiking Mount Rinjani. We recommend bringing only the essentials needed for the trek and storing any extra bags, suitcases, or non-hiking items with us free of charge until you return from the mountain.

Yes. All meals and drinking water are included throughout the trek. Our guides and porters prepare fresh meals at the campsite, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, fresh fruit, and hot drinks.

The trek starts and finishes in Senaru Village. Hikers ascend through Mount Rinjani National Park’s tropical rainforest to the Senaru Crater Rim, camp overnight, and return to Senaru the following day via the same route.

The 3D2N trek is considered challenging. Trekkers should be prepared for steep climbs, loose volcanic gravel, long hiking hours, and changing weather conditions.

Before your Mount Rinjani trek, you’ll stay at Jou Trekking Guesthouse, our official meeting point for pre-trek briefings, equipment checks, and departure.

Guests can enjoy clean rooms, hot showers, and fast Wi-Fi before the adventure. For those booking a trek package without accommodation or transportation, Jou Trekking Guesthouse remains the official meeting point before the trek.

Porters carry camping equipment, food supplies, cooking equipment, and other group gear. Trekkers are expected to carry their own personal daypack.

Nighttime temperatures at the Senaru Crater Rim typically range from 8°C to 12°C. Warm clothing is recommended, especially during the dry season.
