Starting from Senaru Village, the journey takes you through lush tropical rainforest and scenic mountain landscapes before reaching the crater rim. From the top, enjoy panoramic views of Segara Anak Lake, Mount Barujari, the Rinjani caldera, and the surrounding Lombok landscape.
Spend one night camping on the crater rim, where you can experience the beautiful sunset and peaceful mountain atmosphere. The following morning, enjoy the sunrise before descending back to Senaru Village.

Day 0 — Arrival in Senaru & Pre-Trek Stay
Your Mount Rinjani adventure begins with a complimentary transfer to Senaru Village. We provide free pick-up from various locations across Lombok, making your journey to the starting point easy and stress-free. Upon arrival, you’ll check in to our guesthouse and relax before the trek starts the following morning.

Our Recommendation
For the best experience, we suggest selecting a morning transfer whenever possible. Arriving in Senaru earlier gives you enough time to relax, explore the village, enjoy the fresh mountain atmosphere, and get a good night’s sleep before your trek.

Overnight Accommodation
Before your trek, you’ll stay in a comfortable private room at our guesthouse in Senaru. Each room features a private bathroom, beautiful mountain surroundings, and breakfast is included. In the evening, your trekking guide will meet you for a short briefing, equipment inspection, and a final overview of the adventure ahead.
Day 1: Senaru Village → Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m)

Enjoy breakfast and prepare your personal belongings. Our team will make a final equipment check before departure.
07:30 AM — Transfer to Senaru Trekking Gate
If you are staying in Senaru, our team will arrange the transfer to the trekking starting point.
08:00 AM — Start Trekking
We begin the hike from Senaru Village and gradually make our way through local plantations before entering the tropical rainforest.
10:00 AM — Rest at Pos 1 (915 m)
Take a short break, drink some water, and enjoy refreshments before continuing uphill.
12:00 PM — Pos 2 (1,500 m)
We stop for another rest before continuing toward the higher section of the trail.
01:00 PM — Lunch at Pos 3 (2,000 m)
Our porters prepare a freshly cooked lunch. After eating, take some time to relax and recover.
02:00 PM — Continue Toward the Crater Rim
The trail becomes steeper as we gain altitude. Our guide will maintain a comfortable pace and assist you along the way.
04:00–05:00 PM — Arrive at Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m)
After reaching the campsite, relax while our porters prepare the tents. Enjoy the impressive views of the Rinjani caldera and Segara Anak Lake.
05:30 PM — Sunset & Free Time
Enjoy the sunset from the crater rim and take in the surrounding mountain scenery.
07:00 PM — Dinner & Overnight Camping
Enjoy dinner at the campsite before settling in for the night.

The 2D1N Senaru Crater Rim Trek focuses on reaching the spectacular Senaru Crater Rim (2,641 m), offering stunning views of Segara Anak Lake and Mount Barujari. The 2D1N Rinjani Summit Trek follows the Sembalun route and includes a sunrise summit climb to Mount Rinjani’s highest point at 3,726 m. The Senaru Crater Rim Trek is shorter, easier, and suitable for those who want incredible views without the demanding summit ascent.
What Is Your Cancellation and Refund Policy?
A USD 40 booking deposit per person is required to secure your reservation and is non-refundable under all circumstances.
If you cancel your booking within 24 hours before the scheduled trekking date, or after the trek has started, 100% of the total trekking fee will be charged and no refund will be provided.
Please note that once Mount Rinjani National Park permits have been issued, the permit fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another person or trekking date.
If you have paid the full trekking fee and cancel more than 48 hours before the scheduled trekking date, any eligible refundable balance will be returned, excluding the USD 40 non-refundable deposit and any non-refundable permit fees that have already been processed.
Do I Need Travel Insurance?
Where Can I Leave My Luggage During the Trek?
You can leave your luggage safely at the Jou Trekking office while you are hiking Mount Rinjani. We recommend bringing only the essentials needed for the trek and storing any extra bags, suitcases, or non-hiking items with us free of charge until you return from the mountain.
Are Meals Included, and Can You Accommodate Special Dietary Requirements?
Yes. All meals and drinking water are included throughout the trek. Our guides and porters prepare fresh meals at the campsite, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, fresh fruit, and hot drinks.
We are happy to accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets, as well as most other dietary requirements. Simply let us know your dietary preferences or food allergies when you make your booking, and we will prepare suitable meals for your trek.
Is Drinking Water Provided During the Trek?
Yes. Drinking water is provided throughout the trek. Our team will supply enough water for the entire journey.

Will Porters Carry My Backpack?
